Amanda Kallaur • Owner & Tailor/Seamstress
Originally from Philadelphia, Pa, Amanda moved to Mount Pleasant in 2011, while in high school. She’s a graduate of Wando High School and College of Charleston. She began sewing at the age of eleven, making costumes and clothes. She quickly discovered it was her passion and path in life. After returning from graduate school eight years ago, she began her career in alterations at a local alterations shop. She has specialized in wedding and formal dresses from day one in the alterations world. In 2019, she opened one of the highest-rated alterations & design shop in the Charleston area, The Queens of Seams. She then went solo and opened her current shop, Once Upon a Seam, in 2022. When Amanda is not in the shop, she enjoys spending time with her fiancé (Jon), rabbit (Buc-ee) and cat (Penny), traveling, and kayaking.
